Myfanwy Lloyd was born and raised in Hampshire, England and Gwynedd, North Wales. She graduated from Portsmouth College of Art and Design with a B.A (Hons.) in Fine Art. Following extensive travels in Europe and Asia she worked in Fashion for six years in Paris and London. In 1976 she moved to Boulder, Colorado where she resides with her family.
She is a life-long student of the Sacred Traditions of Painting having studied Tibetan Thangka Painting with Sange Elliot (Naropa University), Russian Icon Writing with Viadislav Andiev (New York School of Sacred Arts) and Indian/Persian Miniature Painting with Melissa Lancaster (London).
Her tiny canvases, generally 5”x7” are egg tempera on gold and silver leaf. Inspired by her deep connection to the natural world, these mysterious portraits bear witness to her delight in how the practice of these timeless, alchemical disciplines can grant us access to resonant dimensions where soul components can be encountered and embraced.
Myfanwy is a longtime devoted student of and, visionary masters of fantastic realism.
